How to care for your new Resin Minis

Resin miniatures can be very fragile and also very very small! Here are some tips on
how to best care for your resin miniatures after you receive them.

1. Keep it out of the Sun!
Resin is cured using UV light. The longer it is left in the UV light the more brittle the resin
becomes. When we cure resin miniatures, we only cure them enough to ensure the resin is
set and can be handled safely. Resin is a toxic substance and we must wear safety gear
when handling it. Once the resin is cured, it is safe to be touched. If a mini is left in the UV
light for too long, it can become more brittle and more susceptible to breaking. When you
get a resin mini, keep it out of the sun as best as you can. Even after you have primed and
painted your mini, we don’t suggest ever keeping them out in the sun. Miniatures like
shadowy cool places…just like potatoes and gamers.

2. Prime your Miniature ASAP!
We recommended priming your mini as soon as you can. The primer will protect your mini
and help keep it safe. You will also need to prime your miniature if you want to paint it, so it
can’t hurt to give it a prime ASAP to protect it.
There are many different primers you can get. You can get ones in the can, paint on ones
and ones to be applied by airbrush.

3. Superglue is your friend.
Resin miniatures can be put together best with Superglue. Superglue should be used
carefully and with adult supervision. If a part of your miniature does break, you can fix it
with a little bit of superglue. Superglue is also how you should connect your miniature to
its base or connect any parts. Our miniatures come unassembled so you will need to put
them together and for resin we suggest superglue.

4. Don’t drop them
Dropping a miniature onto a hard surface or from a substantial height will cause them to
break. Unlike plastic or metal miniatures, resin miniatures are more fragile. Resin
miniatures are great for intricately detailed miniatures, but that comes at a cost. While
there are resins out there that are becoming more durable, ours included, they are still
quite fragile and you should take care of your miniatures. Don’t drop your resin miniatures.
If they do drop and break, see point 3 about how superglue is your friend.
